Downtown San Antonio is home to the historic Aztec Theatre, a circa 1926 structure that is listed under the National Register of Historic Places. Considered by many as a Meso-American architectural work of art, the Aztec Theatre boasts a dramatic combination of authentic columns, reliefs and artifacts. From its stunning lobby and mezzanine to the glorious theater and balcony, it is an authentic San Antonio experience. Overland used the top four floors of vacant office space to create an intimate boutique hotel with 77 rooms, a rooftop lobby, restaurant and bar that will offer views of the San Antonio River Walk, and an outdoor special event space that will accommodate up to 120 guests, which connects to the mezzanine level of the theater. A new vitality is expressed through the design additions while tying into the historic past of the Aztec.
